We are very fortunate to have on site a commercial veterinary laboratory. TDDS Ltd is a part of a national veterinary laboratory. They are not part of Cedar Veterinary Group, but use our building, and are totally independent of us.

They are able to turn around most blood samples within 24 hours (or even less if an emergency). While some tests still need to be sent off, most can be done in house.

Having this service on site is invaluable for a number of reasons:

• Quicker results mean faster treatment for your pet, and hopefully a successful resolution of any problems earlier.
• Quicker results mean peace of mind for you at a time when you will be anxious to find out what is wrong.
• All samples are body tissue, and they deteriorate rapidly. Examination of fresh samples gives better, more reliable results compared to samples which may have sat in hot Post Office for several days.
• Unusual results can be retested quickly to ensure their accuracy.
• Cheaper in-house lab machines, such as those found in most practices, are much less reliable, and can produce incorrect abnormal results, which will mislead the vet. TDDS have invested heavily in the most modern equipment.
• TDDS have trained, experienced staff working all equipment, which makes a huge difference to the reliability of results. In practice, a wide range of staff will bring a wide range of standards.
• Equipment can be checked more regularly to ensure it is producing accurate results.
