Our Practice takes referrals from other veterinary practices for cases including cardiology (heart problems), orthopaedics (bone, spine and joint problems), internal medicine, dentistry and behaviour. The aim of this service is to offer investigation and treatment to a higher level than that normally possible in general practice. We only take such cases with a referral letter from your own vet. After our input, you will usually return to your usual vet for further treatment.

Of course, you may require a second opinion for other reasons. In these cases, we are happy to help, but do follow the Guidelines as laid down by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. We will therefore require a copy of previous treatment from your vet.

Just let us know you are wanting a second opinion when you phone for an appointment, and we will arrange to obtain a copy of your pet's notes by fax. This extra information is extremely useful, and will ensure that we do not repeat treatment given earlier, and are aware of any previous allergies or reactions.
