We are open till 9pm
Monday to Friday we run appointments until 9.00pm at no extra cost. No need to pay high evening costs just because you get home from work late. After 9pm we have our own emergency out of hours service run by our own vets and nurses from our Ringwood Hospital (at extra cost). You will see a familiar face who has all of your pets clinical notes to hand.
Our nurse is in the Hospital with patients all night
If your pet needs to stay with us overnight, one of our qualified nurses will be on the premises at all times, ready to check your pet is OK, give them a cuddle or some medication if it is due. Very few other Practices in our region can offer this. After all, if you were staying in Hospital, would you be happy for the nurse to go home at 6 o’clock and pop in before bedtime to check you are OK?
Our patients need attention and care when they are away from home, and not to be left alone in a kennel.
Tier 3 hospital premises
Tier 3 is the highest level in The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standard Scheme with only 130 Practices in the whole UK achieving it. We are inspected by the RCVS and have to have the highest levels of equipment and staff training.
This means that when your pet is in with us, you can be sure they are receiving treatment in a top level surgery; and in those "difficult" cases, we can do so much more than a lower Tier practice.
Diploma nurses
Nurses are a hugely under-rated part of a veterinary practice. Not only are most of ours qualified Veterinary Nurses, we also have several who have advanced Diplomas in Nursing, which are very hard to achieve. What they don’t know about nursing isn’t worth knowing!
Professional vet laboratory on site
When we run lab tests on your pet, we want to be 100% confident that abnormal results really are abnormal. Most practice units are notoriously unreliable, and often have untrained personnel using them. Our laboratory is run by an independent professional company. They have not only invested large amounts in state-of-the-art equipment but also have trained laboratory staff running the tests.
Full-time consulting nurse
Our consulting nurses (qualified Veterinary Nurses), are able to help you with nail clipping, bandaging, suture removal, cat grooming, advice on diets, injecting your Diabetic pet and a multitude of other things. Their appointments are either free or much cheaper than seeing the vet for the same thing. They have had extensive extra training to help them answer all of your questions.
Specialists on site
We also run a second opinion service in dentistry from our Verwood surgery, as well as a behvaviour and training consultation service from various venues in and around Ringwood. Other problems that need specialist treatment are referred to Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists in Hangersley, on the edge of Ringwood, with whom we have close ties. They can provide orthopaedic, cardiology, neurology, soft tissue surgery and medicine on site, as well as MRI & CT scanning. We are lucky to have such a centre on our doorstep.
Having these experts so close at hand means you don't have to travel miles to see a specialist, and that our vets have the benefit of advice with "difficult" cases.
Behaviour and training practice
Our New Forest Behaviour Practice runs puppy parties, group training, one-to-one specialist training, and consultations for individual behaviour problems. A well-behaved pet is so much more fun; and a pet with a problem can be very serious. That’s why we have been running this service for over ten years now.
Animal ambulance
Our customised ambulance can carry patients to and from our Hospital to the Verwood or Ferndown surgeries. This is useful if you don’t feel like the drive, or need to get to work.
Because we care
Although we are not perfect, we always strive to provide you and your pet with the best that veterinary medicine and surgery can provide at a price which is good value for you. We want to help and work with you to keep your pet healthy and fun to be with.
